Leeds is renowned for its eclectic mix of designer stores; market stalls, independent boutiques and high street brands, which attract thousands of avid shoppers every year. Leeds offers the perfect setting for a shopping spree, and is home to the Victoria Quarter; Leeds Corn Exchange, The Grand Arcade, and most recently the Trinity Leeds shopping centre. With this in mind, we asked you what your favourite retailer in Leeds City Centre was as part of our Parklane City Awards competition last month, here are your top picks for shopping in the city.

The Hip Store
The Hip Store, is one of the UK’s most established independent boutiques, with nearly 30 years of ¬†catering for the city’s ‘creative community’, it offers exclusive brands from across the world. Located within one of the city’s most popular shopping destinations; Trinity Leeds, The Hip Store is a favourite amongst musicians, designers, fashionistas, DJ’s and art students, with something to suit the 16-65 culturally diverse, and has become known for its excellent service and quality. Miss Selfridge
Over the past four decades, Miss Selfridge has established itself as one of the most well loved brands on the high street,¬† priding itself on offering ‘feminine, flirty and contemporary style’ for fashion conscious women nationwide. Since their first store opened in 1966, Miss Selfridge now has an increasing amount of stores nationwide, you can find their Leeds Store at 14-22 Lands Lane, which is just a stone’s throw from the Trinity Leeds shopping centre; Victoria Quarter and Queen’s Arcade.

Located in the Queen’s Arcade, Accent is a family run business with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that strives to build long term relationships with its customers. As an independently owned boutique gift shop, Shabby Chic is the perfect place to find unique, quality and affordable items. Be prepared to be welcomed by a relaxed and friendly atmosphere for your perfect shopping experience at the heart of the Queen’s Arcade. Offering a range from Lily Flame, East of India, Jan Constantine and Allessi, this is the perfect place to pick up some unique bits and pieces.


If you’re a fan of vintage, Best clothing is a Mecca for the fashion savvy; offering a range of vintage, second hand, and reworked pieces. With garments sourced from California, New York, Italy and the UK, Best strive to transform items from as far back as 40 years for the fashion conscious of today. Based at 22 New Market Street, Best can be found in the cultural hub of vintage and second hand shops; full of energy, music, people, variety and hospitality, it’s an experience you won’t forget.

Therapy Womenswear
From jeans to evening dresses, Therapy features a selection of stylish clothing for all occasions, with the aim of providing garments which have the perfect fit; are high quality, simple to care for,  easy to wear and perfect for your special occasion.
