Golden Acre Park

Golden Acre Park in Adel Leeds

One of the biggest parks in Leeds, Golden Acre Park is easy to get to from Adel via Otley Road. It has a tearoom/cafe, lakes and views of the countryside from all directions, while you can even go for a game of football or rugby with your mates should you fancy it.

St John the Baptist Church

Adel Church in Leeds

The Church of St John the Baptist commonly known as Adel church is dated back to the mid-12th century, Adel Church is a Grade I listed building, It’s arguably the most stunning landmark in Adel and is worth wandering around if you need some quiet thinking time or if you want a place to pray and admire some great medieval architecture.

Harewood House

The oldest of three universities in Leeds, it has over 30,000 students and is within 10 minutes’ walk of the city centre. The main campus has a number of shops and places to grab a bite to eat in between seminars and lectures, while there’s also a smaller campus in nearby Headingley.

Leeds University

Leeds Trinity University

Leeds Trinity University

Despite being one of the country’s newer universities, Leeds Trinity does enjoy a good academic reputation for its many courses. It’s located around two miles west of Adel, opposite the rugby union ground and just past Horsforth Rail Station.  It’s also a nice place to study if you want to avoid the crowds of the other two universities in Leeds, while it’s closer to Adel than either two main campuses.

Leeds Beckett & Headingley Campus

Leeds Beckett University

The Headingley Campus of Leeds Beckett is dedicated to subjects such as sports, languages and teaching and is located in the leafy environs of Beckett Park. It's located just a mile or so south of Adel, just off Otley Road and has an on-site food court, gym and several sports fields, all while being near to major bus routes heading towards Adel in one direction and Leeds City Centre/Headingley in the other.
