Leeds always has plenty going on, there’s always some sort of event taking place or something to do. It’s pretty difficult to get bored in Leeds, because there’s so many entertainment options.
If you are making plans for spring and want to attend some fun events over the next few months, then you are in luck. We have picked some of the best events that are taking place in and around Leeds in spring.
Made in Leeds festival
Held at Tetley Brewery in Leeds on Saturday the 30th of April 2016 from 1pm to 11pm (last entry 7pm). This festival is for over 18’s only. ‘All manner of mystical performers, production and scenery like nothing you have ever experienced are the main focus of this year’s gathering.’
Try some real Yorkshire grub at the 2016 Leeds Loves Food Festival. It showcases the city’s independent food and drink retailers, and you can enjoy plenty of free food samples and tasters. There’s also Leeds Indie Food Festival, click here for more details.
North Leeds beer festival 2016
Beer lovers might want to attend the North Leeds Beer Festival which takes place at North Leeds Cricket Club on Friday the 8th of April. This is a great beer festival with live performances from local bands. Click here for more information about this event.
Jungle Jam summer carnival 2016
It may be called a summer carnival but it’s held just after the end of spring, so we thought it was worth mentioning. ‘From 6pm the Caribbean BBQ will be fired up for the exclusive courtyard takeover featuring dub, reggae and dancehall before it turns into a proper tearout rave until the early morning.’ It’s held on Friday the 27th of May at Mint Warehouse.
Tour de Yorkshire
Like cycling? Don’t miss the Tour de Yorkshire which takes place on the 29th and 30th of April and the 1st of May. It’s a big international cycling event that attracts cycling experts and enthusiasts from around the world.
Pull up ya socks remedy – free charity party
All you have to do is donate to the party bucket and bring a pair of clean socks to donate to the homeless, and you can party for free. ‘Even though this is a ‘free party’ expect the full REMEDY experience! Amazing acts across the board, full uv decor, amazing sound systems across 5 stages , and fun extras to keep you distracted and entertained throughout the night!’ This event takes place on Friday the 22nd of April at the Beaver Works from 10pm to 6am. Cleckheaton literature festival
Don’t fancy a night out or partying? Then you might enjoy Cleckheaton Literature Festival, which is held over two weekends in April (21st-24th April and 28th April-1st May). ‘Headliner Andy Kershaw is back, talking about his adventures in some of the world’s most dangerous countries, followed by a question and answer session with the audience.’
There’s plenty of live comedy going on in Leeds during spring. Try the Sitting Room Comedy Club or the Discount Comedy Festival.
